"The new (LVD) Low Voltage Directive"

New Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU 
Applicable from 20th April 2016

The main changes to look at are:

The new chapter 2 (Obligations of economic operators) (page 5 of 2014/35/EU)
Clarifies obligations of the manufacturer or importer.
Product label needs to include clear contact details of the manufacturer or importer. 
If that’s not possible it may be included in the packaging or documentation.

Annex I (page 12)
Domestic animals have been added to persons & property where the product must not become hazardous.

Annex II (page 13)
Custom built evaluation kits destined for professionals to be used solely at research and development facilities
for such purposes have been added to exemptions.

Annex III  (internal production control) (page 14-15)
Risk analysis has been added to the technical documentation.
